Enniskerry sits at the start of some of Ireland’s best-loved cycling terrain — the Wicklow Gap, Sally Gap, and the mountain passes along the Dublin-Wicklow border that draw thousands of riders every year. Texaco Enniskerry saw an opportunity to create something more than a fuel stop — a proper cycling hub that would serve both the local community and the steady flow of cyclists heading into the mountains. Head-Wind was appointed to design and deliver the full facility.
The brief was straightforward: a well-equipped, durable, and welcoming stop that meets the expectations of serious cyclists while being accessible to everyone. Something that earns its place on a cyclist’s regular route.
The finished hub covers everything a rider needs — wash, repair, parking, and charging — in a setup that’s built for year-round use and the realities of Irish mountain weather.
What We Installed
Bike Wash Station
High and low-pressure washing for riders coming off the mountain with muddy frames and drivetrains. Designed for high throughput on busy weekend mornings, weatherproof, and low-maintenance — exactly what a working service station environment requires.
Maintenance & Repair Station
A fully equipped stand with tethered professional tools, Allen keys, tyre levers, and a heavy-duty track pump. Ideal for a mechanical check before heading into remote terrain, or for sorting out a minor issue after a long descent. The kind of facility that makes a real difference when you’re 30km from home.
Secure Bike Parking
Quality Sheffield stands providing secure short-stay parking for cyclists stopping to refuel and rest. Positioned for easy access and visibility, with a clean finish that works well in a forecourt setting.
E-Bike Charging Points
Dedicated charging infrastructure for e-road and e-mountain bikes. As e-bikes become increasingly popular on routes like these, a reliable charge point along the way opens up longer and more ambitious rides. Enniskerry is now a practical and essential stop on any e-bike itinerary through the Wicklow hills.
